NATIONAL LAKE CONSERVATION DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE (NLCDC)

NLCDC is the government body under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation dedicated to the sustainable conservation of lakes for biodiversity, culture and livelihoods. CODEFUND has been working with NLCDC for the implementation of ILBM in Nepal. Yet, CODEFUND has technically supported to NLCDC for the field base scientific inventory of lakes in 63 districts of the eastern; central; western and mid-western Nepal. CODEFUND also assisted NLCDC for the preparation of Ramsar Information Sheet (RIS), building capacities of lake managers and communities and preparation of management plan of some major lakes of Nepal.
