Govinda Bahadur Basnet, PhD

Govinda Bahadur Basnet got his PhD in Environmental Anthropology from the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, USA, in 2007. Previously, he got Masters degree in Ecological Agriculture from Wageningen Agriculture University, the Netherlands, and B.Sc. (Ag.) from Andhra Pradesh Agriculture University, Hyderabad, India.  He has worked for over 15 years in the fields of environment conservation, climate change, water resources management and community, development in policy analysis, program development, implementation and evaluation. Coming from Solukhumbu district, he has worked extensively in remote areas of Nepal. His research focuses on interfaces of water resource management and environment conservation and won prestigious research grants from institutions like National Science Foundation and Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research (USA) among others.

Dr. Basnet has been involving in CODEFUND since 2016 as Anthropologist Expert.
