Sujan Shrestha

Mr. Sujan Shrestha is a biodiversity and environmental professional with more than a decade of experience in biodiversity conservation, environmental safeguards, aquatic biodiversity, NTFP management, watershed planning, and environmental assessment in Nepal. He holds an M.Sc. in Biodiversity and Environmental Management (2015–2017) from the Central Department of Botany, Tribhuvan University, and a B.Sc. in Environmental Science (2014) from Tri-Chandra Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University.

He has extensive experience in environmental and biodiversity studies, including EIA, IEE, BES, environmental safeguards, aquatic biodiversity surveys, biodiversity assessment, watershed management, NTFP inventory and sustainable harvesting planning, wetland conservation, and environmental management planning. He has worked with organizations including the Asian Development Bank, Prakriti Consult Pvt. Ltd., Environmental Partners Pvt. Ltd., Nature Research House Pvt. Ltd., and Conservation Development Foundation (CODEFUND).

Currently, he is engaged as a Biodiversity Conservation Expert/Environmental professional and has served as a Research Officer at CODEFUND (joined in 2018), contributing to major assignments for WWF Nepal, USAID Jal Jangal, DNPWC, NTNC, and other development partners. His competencies include field survey and data collection, aquatic and terrestrial biodiversity assessment, GIS and R-based data analysis, team coordination, stakeholder consultation, technical reporting, and environmental safeguards.
