Detail study and Preparation of Management Plan of Ramapithecus Zoological Park at Butwal-13, Belvas, Rupandehi

CODEFUND has undertaken an assignment entitled “Detail study and Preparation of Management Plan of Ramapithecus Zoological Park at Butwal-13, Belvas, Rupandehi” to provide technical support to Forest Directorate, Province 5. The MoU was signed between the CODEFUND and the Directorate on April 29, 2019. As per MoU assignment will be ended by June 30, 2019.

The overall objective of the study is to conduct a detailed feasibility study and prepare a brief management plan for Zoological Garden and Recreational Centre at Butwal. The specific objectives include:
 Collection of baseline information on physical, biological (Flora and Fauna), socio-economic and cultural aspects of the area
 To carry out the study of the Landscape of the area for the necessary infrastructure development in the zoological park.
 Explore the suitable wildlife species in the exhibition for the zoological park.
 Assess the areas needed for each animal species to be kept in the zoological park.
 Assess the areas for the animal hospital and orphan animal rescue center.
 Based on a detailed survey and feasibility study make a management plan with a priority ranking of the structures to be constructed in the park.
 To explore the appropriate design of all structures for the Zoological Park including detail cost estimate of structures to be constructed in FY 075/076.
